Sir Percy Day - Part Four: 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' Reboot Dream Cast

Some of you may have heard that there was going to be a reboot of The Scarlet Pimpernel.  Some of you also may have heard that the reboot has since been cancelled.  (Yikes.  The sound of your weeping can be heard above my Josh Groban albums.)

Have no fear, however.  I think that if we Leaguettes keep posting about how much a reboot needs to be done, someone will make it.  After all, we started The TSP1982 Project... and it happened.   (Be sure to check out the trailer on the movie's Amazon page!  It's awesome!!)  *Insert screams about it coming out again in THREE DAYS!!!!!*  (See Ally's awesome and squeeeee-y post here.)  As you see, we've got friends in high places.  (If only I knew who they were....)

While we're waiting, we might as well give them some ideas about casting, right???  (The readers of The Day-Dream have already voiced their opinion.  The Dream Cast below is all my own making and is not endorsed by The Day-Dream, blah, blah, blah.)

Enjoy.

Sir Percy Blakeney
Tom Hiddleston
Doesn't he totally look like Anthony Andrews? See here if you don't believe me.

Marguerite Blakeney
Scarlett Johansson
She's so pretty....  Loved her as Natasha Rominov/Black Widow in The Avengers and the Iron Man movies!

Chauvelin
Richard Armitage
The man can do evil.  Don't believe me?  Watch him in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Armand St. Just
Eddie Redmayne

Andrew Ffoulkes
Aaron Tveit

Tony Dewhurst
Liam Hemsworth

Hastings
Chris Evans

Suzanne de Tournay
Carey Mulligan

Count and Countess de Tournay

Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour

Baron de Batz
Ian McKellan
Heehee....  I did this for the sole reason that he would be able to say the line, "To think that I would be in league with the Scarlet Pimpernel!"

Robespierre
Martin Freeman

The Dauphin (Louis the IDK)
Collin MacKechnie
He may be a little old.... Whatev.  Believable young boy actors are hard!

The Prince of Wales
Benedict Cumberbatch

Varous members of The League
Drew Seeley

Wes Aderhold

Jamie Bell

Daniel Vincent Gordh

Michael Bolton

Maxwell Glick

Christopher Sean

(I don't mind who the casting director picks to play the other members of The League.  Just as long as they're good actors and have read the book and seen the movie.)

Wow.  That was more fun than it should have been.  : D  Also, this looks like a mix of all of my favorite movies!  Les Miserables meets The Lizzie Bennet Diaries meets The Avengers meets The Hobbit!  That'd be so awesome.

What do you guys think?  Am I missing anybody - either an actor or a character???

Hehe, love your casting! Although I would love for there to be Orlando Bloom in there somewhere :P But you have most of my favorite actors in there anyway :)

Oh, did you mean to have ALL of the Avengers in there? :P

And you said it's a mix of Les Miserables, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, The Avengers and the Hobbit. But you missed one, BBC Sherlock Homes! You have both actors in there, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Just to tell you :P

Amy - I just KNEW you'd appreciate that. You know I rival you in Aaron fandom, right? Heehee....

Belle - Yes, Orlando Bloom would be good for one of the random members of the League.... : ) Haha, no, all of The Avengers shouldn't be in there.... If they were, Robert Downey Jr. would have to wear his Iron Man suit, and I'm SURE Percy would heartily disprove of it. : D True about Sherlock.... : D

How could I have missed this before??? ENJOLRAS!!!!! *SCREAM*

cough. That was a little overly enthusiastic. Actually, I love your casting. A lot.

Belle - True.... : ) He's a good actor. He'd probably have to be a Random Member of The League and we wouldn't give him ample amount of screentime. : P

Hayden - YES!!!! Hahaha.... I'm thinking about re-casting Daniel Huttlestone as the Dauphin.... What say ye?

I LOVED this casting! It would be interesting to see Martin Freeman playing a bad guy, for once. And Richard Armitage would be perfect as Chauvelin. Now that I have think of it, you cast four actors from The Hobbit: Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Armitage and Ian McKellan.

Margaret - : ) I know, right! I wonder if he could pull it off.... We all know he's a convincing hobbit and doctor-turned-detective, but is he a good villain? Hmmm.... Ooh! I didn't notice that. Haha, I guess The Hobbit was on my brain when I did the casting! : D

Tom Hiddleston is an interesting choice for Sir Percy...maybe it's because I've only ever seen him in Thor and The Avengers, but I had pictured him doing Chauvelin. Still, once you think about it, I could easily see him playing the Scarlet Pimpernel.

On a different note...Eddie Redmayne would be the perfect Armand.
